On December 23, 2023, the annual event of “Sahitya Shabha” was held. On the same day, the 18 th anniversary of the Gobordanga Seba Farmers’ Samity was also celebrated. This event was named “Abalamban”. The event commenced with the worship of Goddess Kali through devotional songs. Following this, a garland was placed on the portrait of  late Ras Mohan Dutta to pay tribute to him. On this day, we were honored by the presence of Dr. N. C. Kar, a prominent doctor from Gobordanga, as a special guest. After that, the writers present on the main stage were welcomed with flowers.

Many people and child artists were present with us on this day. The event progressed with recitations of self-composed poems by adults, along with dances and poetry recitations by child artists. Meanwhile, a drawing competition was also held. In the middle of the event, the secretary of Gobordanga Seba Farmers’ Samity, Shr. Gobinda Lal Majumdar, distributed food and clothing items among the helpless and needy.

We welcomed Dhiraj Howlader from “Maslandapur Imon Mime Center” by presenting him with a Manpatra and the ‘Ananya Samman’ award.  A young girl, Sunanda Mahanti, who comes from a very poor financial background but achieved good results in her studies despite her hardships, was also honored by the Gobordanga Seba Farmers’ Samity on this day. After a day-long event, certificates were awarded to Adult literacy students and child artists. Many distinguished individuals provided financial support for the ‘Esso Haat Dhari’ project on this day. The event concluded with evening aarti music performed by Gautam Saha, a volunteer from  Seba.
