WHAT WE DO

Esso Haat Dhari

It is a well designed programme and very much special to our organization in which a whole gamut of various voluntary works take place. It can be undertaken with the co-operation of other voluntary or professional organizations. Our partners in these areas are Rotary Club of India, Barasat Cancer Research Centre, Narayani Hospital, Barasat, Hridaypur Netralaya welfare Society, Gobardanga Municipality and other Govt. organizations. The theme of the programme is to serve the poorest of the poor of the locality and the under mentioned activities are undertaken under the programme a) Providing food, cloth, shelter and treatment for old, helpless, poor destitute, b) Wheel Chair, food, cloth and treatment assistance to handicapped persons and c) educational (financial) support to poor and meritorious students.

Make Donation

We take donation from conscientious men to run our humane programs, specially ‘Eso Hat Dhori’. We appeal to society to come forward with their economic help to save helpless,ill,handicapped,old persons from the evil clutches of hunger and illness, to promote education for poor and meritorious students and to make shelter for homeless destitute. The donation is subject to income tax rebate under section 80G(5) (VI) of Indian Income Tax Act 1961.

Ensure Education and save the future world

Education is the backbone of a society. But due to lack of sufficient means , many poor and meritorious students are deprived of continuing their education and in many cases, leaving school, children are compelled to work as labourer in different sectors. We, with our limited capacity, are trying our best to make a change in this scenario. We have already adopted 21 secondary/higher secondary students and are providing them monthly stipends to continue their education. Besides all child students of 5 primary schools of remote rural area were adopted and teaching materials and cultural articles are being provided to them for their education vies a vies cultural development. Those adopted primary schools and selected poor and meritorious child students of those schools and they are being provided adequate financial help by us for continuing their education and development of artistic and cultural skills. Handicapped children are being provided wheel chares by us. They are under our continuous support for their medical treatment and nourishment.

(SAHITYA SHABHA) Literary Meetings

On the 4th Saturday of every week SAHITYA SHABHA is being organized for the last 5 years in which literary personnel of the locality as well as renowned persons from the nearby districts take parts to have a discussion in the contemporary literary work in the locality. In some of the Shabhas, students also participate with their literary work like literary write ups, poems, paintings etc with a view to inculcate the habit and skill ln the child's mind. Two bulletins on the literary works have been published and the third one will be published shortly.

Banprastha seba Ashram

A long cherished hope of Gobardanga Seba Farmers’ Samity is going to be true. An old age home has been established at village Ghoshpur, P.O. Ghoshpur Block-Baduria, district - North 24parganas. An arrangement of staying of 50 homeless, old persons with food have been made. The home is shortly going to be in operation.

Health Programmes

with the active help of District and Local police Administration and Barasat cancer Research centre and welfare society, we are arranging several seminars throughout the district for cancer awareness, mother and child care and generate health checkups of vulnerable sections of the society. Moreover, through SEBA DATABYA CHIKITSALAYA (SEBA CHARITABLE Dispensary ), we are helping the patients for providing Eye Treatment and cataract operation free of cost. Up till now 83 persons have undergone Cataract operation and 22 persons have been provided with spectacles. Homoeopathy treatment to the Sr. Citizens is being provided through a sitting doctor.

PROGRAMME WITH ROTARY CLUB OF INDIA

It is a great pleasure to announce that we have been a partner of Rotary club AAbahamaan, Kolkata, west Bengal, india as a member of Rotary community Corps and both of us have joined to Serve, to Care and to learn to Lead which is the vision of both of the organizations. with Rotary club, Kolkata, we have organized various programmes like : I) supplying oxygen Concentrate to the local hospitals (01.07.2021) on the occasion of the International Doctors Day. ii) organization of a massive campaign on “Polio Free India” (26.09.2021). iii) Artificial Limb Replacement to a beneficiary of our Esso Haat Dhari Programme named Kajal Das (02.10.2021). iv) Organization of Eye wellness camp in which free treatment of eyes of 500 patients were made and out of which 227 persons were provided with free spectacles. v) Self Defense Training for women (virangana) for empowering girls with the participation of 30 school Students (girl) and they- were provided Training Certificate.

Volunteer

We invite energetic Youngman to become our volunteer. They should be minimum Madhyamik Examination passed, should have experience and attitude for rural development, should be capable of undertaking extensive field tour almost on every working day, should have knowledge about formation, nurture and bank linkage of Self Help Groups and Joint Liability Groups and a minimum knowledge of Bank Account operation, etc.

Fund Rising

We are running mainly with the fund given to us as service charges by NANARD for formation,nurture and bank linkage of Self Help Groups and Joint Liability Groups. Besides our funding is done by SHG and JLG members in the form of donation made by them and by general public for our ‘Eso Hat Dhori’ program in the form of donation and subscription.

SELF HELP GROUPS AND JOINT LIABILITY GROUPS OF WOMEN SECTION OF THE SOCIETY:

Formation, nurture, savings linking and Bank Credit linking of 5536 Self Help Groups and Joint Liability Groups comprising above 36000 women through 26 branches of Punjab National Bank in 58 Gramm Panchayats and 12 Blocks and 7 Municipalities including Gobardanga. These women could uplift their living Conditions by adoption of several income generating activities. The Samity is acting in this sphere as the Self Help Promoting Institution of NABARD.

HELPING FARMERS

The Samity has been assisting the progressive farmers of the district for adoption of improved agricultural technologies in the field with NABARD & Krishi Vigyan Kendra as support organizations. 129 Farmers' Clubs have been formed for strengthening farmer's community in this regard. The Samity has been working as the Promoting Institute of Producers' organizations (POPI). Three Farmers’ companies VIZ. i) Ichamoti farmers’ producer co. Ltd. under gaighata Block, ii) Swanirvar farmers’ producer co. Ltd. under swarupnagar Block and iii) Baduria Vikash farmers’ producer co. Ltd. under baduria Block have been formed in order to harness the benefits of collectivity, reducing cost through economics of scale, Value chain management, better bargaining power and risk management. The companies are functioning well.

KRISHI MELA :

With the active help of NABARD, the Samity has been arranging ‘Krishi Mela ( Agricultural Fair)’ every year where exhibition of exceptional agricultural produces with bio-technologies, seminars and lectures for the benefit of farmers are being arranged. Experts of Government and other organizations of different Agricultural sector are taking active roles in the Mela.

SOLAR PUMPSET FOR FARMERS

The Samity has installed one solar pump set in Ichapur village of Gaighata Blook for supply of irrigation water to 11 Bighas of land benefitting 56 farmers of the village. By use of this pump water supply to those lands throughout the year was possible and lands were converted to triple cropped area from double cropped ones for which annual income of the benefited farmers were raised to a greater level.

VALUE ADDITION IN JUTE FIBRES

with the collaboration of ICAR- NINFET Zoo noses Awareness programme with 150 Farmer Participants and a demonstration of harvesting protocol of jute leaves were organized. A health awareness of animals and chicks distribution programme was also organized in Gaighata Block. A demonstration progrmme of extracting Jute Fibre with ‘NINFEET- SATHI’ Powder was organized in Gaighata Block. Those programme was organized by Ichamoti FPC. The ICAR-National institute of Natural Fiber Engineering and Technology, Kolkata celebrated its 84th Foundation Day with full enthusiasm and fervor on 03'01'2022' on this occasion our farmer Shri Pradip Biswas of vill. & p.o. - panji, Block - Baduria, District - North 24 Parganas was awarded 1st prize in Jute Rating in West Bengal.

DISTRIBUTION OF ARSENIC FREE SAFE DRINKTNG WATER & PARTICIPATION IN NAMAMI GANGA PROJECT

With the support of London School of Hygiene & Tropical Medicine and HUL we could arrange distribution of 480 arsenic free water Filter to ensure women and child care in 4 serer arsenic affected villages. These villages are now converted to free of fatal diseases resulting from arsenic contamination. Livelihood support Programme - we have signed a MOU with GSPPL, a unit of WABAG, an MNC under their CSR Plan under Namami Ganga project for livelihood support programme of the affected people for the establishment of a water Treatment Plant. The programme will be going on in areas like Bally, Baranagar, Shibpur, Lilua.
