On February 5, 2024, Seba Ichamati Farmers Producer Company Limited inaugurated its own jute training center. This training center primarily received support from ICAR-CRIJAF. To inaugurate this production hub, Dr. Gouranga Kar, Director of ICAR-CRIJAF Barrackpore, was present as a distinguished guest. He was welcomed with a shower of flowers by the volunteers and others from Seba Farmers’ Samity.

Many members of farming families from Gaighata block attended the program to make it a success. Dr. Gouranga Kar first unveiled the plaque of the jute production hub and commenced the event by lighting the lamp. He spoke to the self-help group women about the special opportunities and benefits of training in jute, leading to an extensive discussion among them.

Following this, a “Farmers’ Meet” was held at Seba’s own premises. At the beginning of the conference, Shr. Gobinda Lal Majumdar, Secretary of Gobardanga Seba Farmers’ Samity, welcomed Dr. Gouranga Kar with a scarf and flowers, and Shr. Himadri Gomastha, President of GSFS, presented him with a memento. Subsequently, all the scientists and other officials were welcomed one by one. The opening speech was then delivered by the Secretary of Gobardanga Seba Farmers’ Samity. Dr. Gouranga Kar gave a special address to the farmers.
